Altasciences is seeking a dedicated Clinical Veterinarian to join
our team and contribute to the health and well-being of laboratory
animals used in scientific studies. What You'll Do Here Provide
comprehensive veterinary care, including medical, dental, imaging,
and surgical services, specifically tailored for nonhuman primates
(NHPs) onsite. Demonstrate professional leadership in managing and
resolving complex medical cases, ensuring the highest standards of
animal care. Collaborate with our team to maintain compliance with
federal regulations governing the ethical and humane treatment of
laboratory animals. Contribute to the development, review, and
implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to
animal welfare and care. Support the Institutional Animal Care &
Use Committee by participating in protocol reviews, addressing
animal colony issues, and providing expert consultations. Manage
clerical and administrative tasks related to medical records,
reports, and procedural documentation to ensure accurate
record-keeping. Implement preventive health programs, domestic
isolation protocols, and medical care for colony/stock animals to
promote overall animal well-being. Engage in client interaction and
contribute to business development initiatives to enhance our
laboratory animal science services. What You'll Need to Succeed
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited
institution. Minimum of 2 years of experience in Laboratory Animal
Medicine, with a focus on NHPs. State License in Veterinary
Medicine is required, or a willingness to obtain licensure in
Washington state within one year. ACLAM board certification or
eligibility is preferred, demonstrating a commitment to excellence
in laboratory animal medicine. Proficiency in mathematical concepts
for interpreting scientific studies, dose calculations, and related
skills. Strong communication skills, with the ability to
effectively interact with clients, staff, and regulatory
